The reason I pursue my studies is to contribute to the sustainable development of my community, the market, and society as a whole. My ability to study is fueled by the support and encouragement of those around me. In turn, I take great pleasure in identifying issues within my community, engaging in discussions, and collaboratively seeking solutions for improvement. Below are some of the services I am involved in, which I hope make a modest yet meaningful impact.

Student Representative, The New Building Committee, Haslam College of Business (2023-2025)
I have served as a student representative on the new building committee at my college at UT. In this role, I collaborated with both students and faculty to design spaces that meet their needs and participated in important decision-making at the college level.

Graduate Student Senate, University of Tennessee (2022-2023)
As a student representative of the Management and Entrepreneurship Department, I served on the Graduate Senate for a year. During this time, I was a member of the GSS Travel Funding Council, where I reviewed graduate students’ research proposals for travel funding sponsored by the Graduate Senate.

ASQ Blog Student Contributor (2021)
My cohort, Gavin Williamson, and I interviewed the authors of the paper “Boghossian & David, 2023, ASQ, Under the Umbrella: Goal-Derived Category Construction and Product Category Nesting,” and wrote a short article about it. This helped us garner attention from a diverse audience, including both academics and practitioners.

Volunteer/Ad-hoc Reviewer
I have participated in multiple journals as ad-hoc reviewer, including Journal of Management, Journal of Business Research. Additionally, I have participated multiple conferences as a volunteer reviewer, including the Academy of Management Annual Conference (since 2022), the Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference (since 2021), and the Southern Management Association (SMA) Annual Conference (since 2024). This experience has allowed me to identify research that contributes to both academia and practice, thereby enhancing my capabilities as a future reviewer.

President, UTK Korean Graduate Student Association
As a leader of the Korean Student Association, I facilitated connections between the University of Tennessee and prominent universities in Korea. In 2022, I organized a UT alumni event in Seoul in collaboration with the UT International Office and supported exchange events between the international offices of Korean universities and the UT Global Office. In recognition of these efforts, I received the Best Student Engagement Award.
